Marita Bullmann

Most of my performances are dealing with the relationship of the performer's body (me) and the difference of the audience. It is about expressing myself, my feelings, my thoughts through the body as a material and what different kind of reactions/feelings and thoughts being created in the viewers mind and senses.

About me

Since 2004 I'm studying photography at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany.
So my main focus is photography but in the 4th semester.
I started doing kind of performances by myself in front of a video camera.
In my school department there is no performance class but the teacher of sculpting supported my ideas and the eager to do performances.
During that time I began also to take part in the contact improvisation jams at pact-zollverein and joined the lessons in Alexander-technics at the Folkwang Hochschule.
Feb 2008 I got the chance to participate in a one-day workshop with Boris Nieslony.
From October till June I studied abroad in Israel, at the Bezalel University in Jerusalem. There I got to know Adina Bar-On. Her performance class puts me really into the topic and I learned and enjoyed it a lot.
But nevertheless I‘m still into doing photography, making exhibitions and planing photography projects.
These both working fields are a good combination and do not exclude each other.

I am interested in a coopertaion with

A huge variety of artists and especially with diverse backgrounds! I think due to the diversity a lot of creative and innovative works can emerge.
