Description of the projects

MUFU PROJECT

The MUFU project is the transformation of an abandoned building into an art-squat. Built with own hands, this new platform can be transformed into a stage for any kind of cultural event: exhibitions, music concerts, a cosy café, a theatre stage, an art-residency, etc. The MUFU space hides uncountable possibilities.

„A Farewell to Arms!“

Theatre actors, painters, dancers and musicians from Perm, Duisburg and Pécs tell with their modern theatre language the life story during war time. The project is mainly based on improvisation and interaction between different artistic genres. The Motovilikha Plants Museum, with its guns, rocket launchers and howitzers, is not an ordinary place for a performance where the opposites are organically combined: war and life, art and arms, history and modernity.

Doorstination

With your imagination, you can travel in another city or country without trains or planes, without passport or visa. Ordinary doors will help you to realize this trip. More precisely, the photos. The authors of the project changed the places of the doors of famous monuments in Sister Cities of Duisburg and Pécs. And we found out that our cities are close to each other. Behind next door.

"A Particle"

On an interactive map of Perm, Duisburg and Pécs authors of the project inscribed the living places of artists and tried to resolve the question about how an artist feels about himself in the city-sphere and how the city influences art.

«NEW LAND: City Language-Language City»

An international team of people from various artistic genres works with the city as an instrument of communication and at the same time interprets the language of communication as a city. You will see an interdisciplinary multimedia performance, full of surprises. The audience and the performers become guests in a new city, a new space, on a new land.

 «Depth of the City»

This is a performance where paint, music and light are combined. Canvases for paintings are facades of abandoned buildings. In the project, inspiration for creation comes from the rethinking of values and rules of the modern megapolis.

«City-Facts»

The artists create a "sculpture of all senses" with things given by pedestrians. The objects are actually facts: they can tell a lot about the owners, their emotions and the cities they live in. The social sculpture is not only an object but something more. The owner of the object also becomes a part of the art work: indeed, without people who need them, things do not mean anything.

Karma Cola

The visual project "Karma Cola" is a combination of opposites: East and West, spiritual and material values, karma as a universal law determining the destiny of people and the brand "Cola-Cola" as a way of life.

Bazaar

The Central Market, one of the most odious place in Perm, will become a huge platform for performances. Artists, musicians, photographers and theatre actors will organically intermingle their art with the everyday market life, "painting" it with new colors. Their artistic experiments stand in various spheres, from the creation of sculptures and videos to performances and even culinary masterpieces.

AT Master class "Global art and interdisciplinary art pedagogy "

The School of the Arts Martyn Ferenc has its own original approach to art-pedagogy. The task of the teacher is to understand students' interests and create conditions in which the needs of everyone are equally important and where each student and group as a whole are intensively working to achieve the educational goals. The Master-class carries a practical orientation.

Photographic Theatre Research

Few people would think that the brightly lit rooms and public halls ready for the performance are not the entire theatre. The whole theatre does not only have hidden places from the public, but also in its way unique places. The photographer Ilya Malyavko invites us to look at another theater, the one, which will never see the audience. For two years, the photographer observed the inner life of the theater, and his photos translate the impressions he has experienced, discovering new and sometimes unexpected frontiers of this huge organ.

"Objects" (street art)

On the streets of Perm there will appear three-dimensional abstract compositions, partially painted, partially made of plastic. The artist uses the language of architecture and at the same time contrasted combinations of shapes and bright color that attract attention and make you think.

Olga Novokreshenova

"New news"

The artist Yuri Lapshin has created an installation on the theme of Time. The works include paintings, graphics and art objects, which were created during 2009-2010, and not previously exhibited. Some events that have become topics for work detain a global character (eg, work, "Georgia should help"), while others apply only to the author's identity.

BALKONIEN

Half-documentary, half-fantastic, the movie «BALKONIEN» tells about life in a high-rise building in the Ruhr district. 250 people live in an area of 600 m² and everyone of them, in different ways, is alone. This film is about patience and resistance, absurdity of everyday life and everyday absurdity.

VJ of the art group "Beshentsev"

At the main site of the festival, «MUFU Depot», the art-group "Beshentsev", a clubbing VJ event, is sometimes called "small brother of video-art" but in distinction from it, this one is played only here, now and nowhere else.

Yan Ozhigov, Elena Salnikova

Presentation of the book "In Limbo"

In the book, the authors collect their common impressions of the project during which they traveled through Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania at the time of the entry of South-Eastern Europe into the European Union. There will be a presentation, author readings, a photographic exhibition and a debate.
